This action is just becaus he stood up against corruption. The action just beacuse he wanted to use his biological spines! He will not get many people rallying for him as this is not a "conventional political issue". I as a scientist am obligated to stand beside him and against corruption at science institute in India
- 1 day agoI think Dr. Roy is being evicted unjustly. This should be definitely protested against. I wish Dr. Roy well.

- about 16 hours agoAs a faculty of NIPER, I know that Dr. Nilanjan is victimized by NIPER administration as he exposed the corruption in NIPER. He was able to save at least 1 carore ruppees just on two issues i.e. diesel and spare parts of equipment. The same is also acknowledged in Parliament through question.
- 1 day agoThis behavior really stinks. This behavior of the otherwise prestigious NIPER instute is a reason not to cooperate with them anymore.
- 1 day agoAs an Indian I am ashmaed to the level of corruption in India in every aspect of life but to see it in a scientific institution makes me sad, Seems like Nilanjan is neither the first or probably the last one from this same institute. Something must be wrong and needs an open and honest investigation.
1 day agoWe should support the anti-corruption movement. It is a complete unjust to the person who raised voice against the corruption. People involved in the corruption to be punished immediately.
1 day agoI am signing to protest against the recent order of dismissal & eviction of Dr. Nilanjan Roy whom I know since 1987-88. Despite of his outstanding contribution in biomedical research, he is fired beacuse of his honest roar against the corruption. As a scientist and a nomral human being, I strongly protest against this eviction order and at he same time I strongly believe that Dr. Roy will get proper justice.- about 2 hours agoI had associated with Nilanjan during my short tenure at NIPER as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicinal Chemistry. He seemed a nice guy and a dedicated scientist. I know the work culture at NIPER, it is really not conducive to do good research. Some senior faculties rule the NIPER and expect the junior faculties side with them whether their actions are right or wrong. If you are not one of them you are outcasted and face lot of trouble. I had very bad experience at NIPER which made me to come back to the USA. During that year (2007) alone three young faculties left the NIPER. I am saddened to hear the news that still the bad work culture continues and getting worst now. I request the BOG should take some action and improve the working environment at NIPER.

1 day agoThe decision of dismissal is extremely unjustified. These three learned people were the crusaders of fighting against CORRUPTION...exposing the malpractices that were rampantly going on. Does it mean they have to pay this high price of DISMISSAL.
Then in todays INDIA ..why there's an uprising against CORRUPTION...why us educated Indians are raising our voice strongly to prevent the corruption and OUR CONSTANT ENDEAVOUR IS TO MAKE A BETTER INDIA.-
- 1 day agoHard to believe that a premier educational instituition like NIPER is being headed by such corrupt people who otherwise claim to be educationist. I definetely want to see Dr. Roy being given justice and his status back for the benefit of the society as well as to the instituition at the earliest. Satyameva Jayate!
