Chandigarh, February 12
A Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team is conducting a raid at National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) in Mohali, Punjab.
The CBI has also booked KK Bhutani, officiating director of NIPER, along
with eight others under relevant sections of the Prevention of
Corruption Act and IPC.
The raids at the campus are on since 7 am. CBI sleuths also carried out raids at the residences of officials.
CBI
sources said that they had a complaint that the funds granted to the
institute for research were diverted and used for various other
purposes. The case was registered after preliminary investigations.
Several NIPER officials are also being grilled by the raiding CBI teams.
